Still Trying

So it's now December and I am just waiting for the next round to start. Sometimes I feel so defeated with this TTC thing. There are no problems on my DH's side, so it is on my shoulders. It's so awful to know that you are the reason that you don't have a baby yet. I guess I'm lucky, though, at least to know what is wrong with my system.

Hopefully, the next "round" will start this week. I will be on Clomid again, but this time I will be monitored. Hooray for that!!! I think I might try soy supplements too. There is a bit of info out there that suggests that soy can work like the Clomid does and it helps with the PCOS. I'm not sure that I believe all that, but it can't really hurt at this point. The doc will put me on the same dose of the Clomid that I did last time...which didn't work at all. I just hope that being monitored will make all the difference.

Continuing with PCOS

So, over the past week I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about PCOS. They say it only affects 10% of women, but I think that number is way wrong! Just from the few sites I have visited this PCOS stuff is affecting so many women. The bottom line is that I need to watch my diet a little closer to help stabilize my hormones. With that in mind, I have reduced my carbs and taken caffeine out of my diet completely.

The next step according to my doc is to get a HSG. They will shoot dye into me to see if anything is blocked or of odd shape - hence making it harder to conceive. This month I will be taking yet another round of Clomid. I have already taken two rounds, but the wonderful little pill has not worked. This is my one last try before we move to injectibles.

Oh lord, please let this work!

Living with PCOS

I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (aka PCOS) yesterday. This comes after 8 months of trying to have a baby. All this time we could have focused on managing my "problem" and haven't. It's frustrating, but good to finally know what is wrong with me!
